Terms of use

These terms explain how you may use FindInstructor. By using the website or creating an instructor account you agree to them.

1. What we provide

FindInstructor is a directory that helps learner drivers in the United Kingdom find driving instructors. We do not provide driving lessons ourselves or take bookings, and we never handle the money for a lesson. Any lesson is an agreement directly between the learner and the instructor.

2. Instructor accounts

• Accounts are for driving instructors and driving schools. Learners can search the directory without an account.
• Each email address can be linked to one account only.
• You must give accurate information and keep your password secure.
• You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
• We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or are used to mislead other people.

3. Instructors

• You confirm that you are qualified to give driving lessons in the United Kingdom and that any ADI number you provide is yours and valid.
• Your business details, services and prices must be accurate and kept up to date.
• Listings created by instructors are reviewed before they are published. Some listings are created from business details a driving school has already published elsewhere; the owner can ask us to change or remove these at any time. We may reject, hide or remove a listing at any time.
• Your business details, services, prices, photo and a WhatsApp or call button are shown publicly once approved.
• Changing your business name, contact number or main centre sends your listing for review again.

4. Paying to be listed

• Instructors who sign up choose a plan and pay to be listed. The price of each plan is shown on the pricing page before you sign up, and what you pay is for the listing itself, never a share of your lesson fees.
• Payment is by bank transfer to the account we show you. Your account opens once we have seen the money in our bank, which is usually within a working day.
• A plan runs for the period shown when you pay it. It does not renew by itself and nothing is taken from you automatically: to stay listed you send the next transfer before the period ends, and any days you have left are added to the new period.
• When a plan runs out your listing stops being shown to learners and your panel closes until the next payment arrives. Nothing you have entered is deleted, and paying again brings the listing back.
• Paying does not guarantee approval. If we refuse or remove your listing for a reason that is not your own breach of these terms, we refund the part of the period you cannot use. We do not otherwise refund a period that has started.
• We may change our prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for, and we tell you before the next one.
• Listings created from details published elsewhere are not charged for, whether or not the owner takes them over.

5. Learners and visitors

• Please check an instructor's qualifications, insurance and terms before booking lessons.
• Use the WhatsApp and call buttons only to enquire about driving lessons. Do not send spam or abusive messages.

6. Contacting instructors on WhatsApp

The WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp, a service run by a third party. Conversations there are covered by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy, not ours.

7. Liability

We cannot check every detail of every listing and cannot guarantee the quality of any instructor's lessons. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for arrangements made between learners and instructors.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. When we make significant changes, we will show a notice on the website.
